Fundraiser Fun

There is a seven year old girl that lives 6 houses down from us, that was recently diagnosed with cancer.  Her old neighborhood did a fundraiser for her family and we were happy to go along to support them.  They had a lot of fun games for the kids to do, and a lot of yummy treats for everyone to eat.  The local fire department even came out to show their support, and Tyler wanted to get a picture on the truck.

Happy Halloween!

The boys had a great time trick or treating around the neighborhood.  They didn't get a ton of candy, but I guess it's less for me to snack on when they're in bed!  Tyler also had a preschool program which he did great at.  Looking back I should had not had him wear his mask because I couldn't see if he was singing at all...but he sure looked cute!

Ty at his preschool program.  I'm still adjusting to preschool only be 2 days a week (and not free out here)...but I'll take it!

Monday the kids didn't have school so we went for a walk.  They enjoy being outdoors and I'm glad that it's not that cold out yet.

Ryan lost his second tooth--I pretty much manhandled it and pulled it out because the adult tooth behind it was already pretty far up.  He was excited to lose it!

Today was rough.  Like Tyler screaming outside for 20 minutes during sacrament meeting rough.  Thankfully days like this aren't too common because I definitely am not the best at handling them.  So I decided that I should finally update the blog and put cute pictures up of the boys...maybe it'll help me forget about today quicker.  Since the last time I updated the blog a lot has happened.  We moved to Utah, bought a home, and Roo went away from training.  I know it's been an adjustment for everybody, and I think that we're all just trying to do the best we can.

A few weeks ago we went on a trip to a local pumpkin patch.  The kids had a great time at picking out their pumpkins.

Ryan lost his first tooth a few weeks ago.  Sadly it was right after we took Roo back to the airport, but he was pretty grossed out about the thought of pulling it out, so maybe it was for the best.

We got season ski passes for the family.  I have to admit that I am really not looking forward to skiing.  I am not a fan of the cold and honestly it just sounds like a lot of work.  But the people that we've talked to around here have told us that you need to get out and stay active during the winter...or else it'll be a miserable couple of months.  So I'm going to try to make the best of it.

The boys are really excited to ski!  I need to get them warm weather gear so that they'll hopefully stay happy on the slopes.

Here are some pictures that we took before Roo left.  The boys miss him and are counting down until he gets back.

Ty at his Thanksgiving program.  He just stood on stage and didn't sing a single word--but he sure looked adorable!

We went to Mobile to look at Christmas Lights and the day after we went to the Childrens Museum.  The kids loved it!

Ty is definitely more into getting dressed up than Ryan ever was...we might have to invest in some outfits.

Halloween

The kids had a great time for Halloween.  Thankfully both kids were fine with wearing old costumes, though at the last minute Tyler said that he wanted to be Superman.  Thankfully I was able to talk him into being the shark...and he looked adorable!

He didn't want to wear his costume...but once he was told that he had to wear it to get candy, he put it on.

Enjoying a trunk or treat at Roo's work.  It was pretty warm here (and they are sweaty kids) so we didn't keep them in their costumes for too long.

Our ward also had a Trunk or Treat--they had a blast!

More from Korea

Get ready for a million pictures from Korea!

While Roo and I were in Japan, my parents took the kids to a CafĂ© where dogs "live".  I'm sure Ty had a fun time getting to pet all the puppies!

Taking the bus back to the hotel.  Public transportation is the way to go in Korea.  I definitely enjoyed the bus more than the subway because it was a pain to go up and down all the stairs with the stroller and with 2 kids in tow.  Thankfully they are good travelers and did pretty well for the most part.

One of the nights that Ty fell asleep on the bus ride home.

Japan

My parents were rock stars and watched the boys for us so that Roo and I could go for a getaway alone.  When first planning a trip we wanted to go to Thailand (to get some cheap massages)...but I'm not very good at geography and didn't realize how FAR Bangkok was.  So we stayed much closer and went to Tokyo.  We had a great time!

After a 14 hour flight with kids it was nice to be on a plane alone!

At Shibuya Crossing.  This picture doesn't even do it justice with how crowded it was.

In honor of our family and friends who love sushi we decided to at least try it in a fish market.

I've never used a bidet before this trip...but I have to say, Japan has it going on.  I especially like the sound option.

Only in Asia...

Some of our food...it was delicious!
